Connection Settings:

This screen is for users who need to add proxy settings for getting "out" of their network.

Most people (99%) do not need to use this so leave the "Direct Connection" radio button ticked.

If you do need to add proxy support, obtain the correct information from your IT department.

Account Information:

This screen is where the Username/Password goes for the software. This is set at time of registration. This must match the UN/pw you provided at time of registration or the software will not connect.

The conenction name is what you call this instance of the software. For example if this is your home PC, you could call it "Home PC". You can also leave it as default "My Connection" but if you run the software on more than one PC you might not find it easy to distinguish between machines.

Mail Setttings :

This screen is where you input the "from" address you would like the emails (with file) to be "from". For example if your normal work email address is "yourname@yourco.com" put that there.

The "subject line" is where you put the message others (or you) will see to identity what it is and why it might be coming to you. This allows you to personalise it for sending work files and your target client won't think it's spam. For example "File from Bill Smith".

File4ward Setttings :

The three options are ticked by default for your benefit.

a) Start File4ward at Windows start (ensures you don't forget to run it)

b) Automatic Connect- Again so you don't forget to run the application AND connect

c) Automatic Re-Connect- This ensures if your internet connection is interrupted it re-connects to the service.

Once the software is installed and running, visit https://file4ward.com . This is our Secure (encrypted) login page. Enter your "phone number" and "pin" from registration.

You click the [+] beside a folder to open it, click on a folder name to view the contents of the folder and click on a specific file to send it.
