Visit the download area to download the required remote access software. Each version is in a separate area: Trial Versions, Pay Versions and Beta Copies. Save the software to a place on your computer that you will remember.

You may be required to install other components to enable the software to work, you will be prompted to download them if needed.

The paid version differs only in that you purchase transfer credits at the time of downloading and your account is live.

Double click the downloaded and saved application. Accept the agreement then modify the installation directory if you wish.

Once the application is installed, it will automatically run and ask you to a) register for the service or b) input your existing UN/PW for the service. Upon successful registration you will be sent an email with your registration information (keep it in a safe place you may need it). The Username/Password combination is also what you will need to log into the service.

The application will run from the "system tray" ie. the area by the clock in the lower right hand corner of your window. If you right click on the File4ward Icon, you can choose to disconnect or open the application.

If you have any problems refer to the built in help file (START>Program Files>File4ward>Help).

You will be asked to provide a "From" email address (yourname@yourname.com) which you would normally send email from and a subject line. The subject line should indicate what and who if you intend to send other people files (Subject Line: Bob Smith File). You are also asked to provide a LOCATION. This identifies the machine to you if you use more than one PC (Home PC).

The software operates in the background requiring no special attention on your part. When you access the service, the application queries your PC and presents the information to your browser.

When you ask a file to be email/sent to you, the application packages the file and emails it in the background, and instantly.

You are not directly inside your PC when using the service. This is a security measure. It only appears that you are! Your files are sent from your PC directly through the service to the email address you provided. Our service is based in CANADA and therefore is not subject to Patriot Act 1 or 2.

Now you are at the fun part. Visit http://file4ward.com on any browser (desktop computer, Web enabled phone, PDA or Pocket PC). Login using your USERNAME/PASSWORD (from registration, refer to your welcome email if unsure).

Once you login you will be presented with a choice (if applicable) of choosing the source PC (If you run three copies on three different PC's you will have three choices). Choose the PC you wish to access.

You will now have a screen that shows you the folder list view (similar to Windows Explorer View most are familiar to). You click on the file [+] to expand a folder and click on a file in the top frame to select it for sending.

You now then have the bottom fram show a field you put an email address into. If you are accessing via Cell phone, the screens are separate and step by step and broken into selections of five files/folders at a time to speed up the process.
