BLACK HOLE POLICY: PRIVACY

Except where we need identifiers for providing the service, we do not care who you are. We adhere to the policy that your account is a "Black Hole" of information: No personal identifiers are retained or provided to anyone under any circumstances. We do not collect uncessesary data, nor do we retain needed data longer than the function of the service dictates.

Conversely, it's not our job to protect people from police or government agencies. If you are attempting to use our service(s) for activities deemed illegal or phrohibited by your government, it's not our job to obfuscate your activities. We are based in CANADA and are subject to stringent CANADIAN PRIVACY LAWS including Federal and Provincial laws. WE ARE NOT SUBJECT TO FOREIGN LAWS REGARDLESS OF THEIR WORDING. We are compelled to work with Canadian Authorities only in cases of CANADIAN LAW violations.

This BLACK HOLE POLICY is to assist with privacy not ANONYMITY. If you use the Internet you are NEVER anonymous. The BLACK HOLE POLICY ensures we do not increase your Privacy Risks while using our services.

BLACK HOLE POLICY: SECURITY

EMAIL: We will only send you email to inform you of changes to the service. We don't spam or send advertising or provide your email information to anyone under any circumstances. If you are worried about using your email there are lots of free webmail providers out there (Hotmail, YahooMail, GMail etc etc) so your personal email can be protected.

ENCRYPTION: Encryption is protection against casual hacking/interception. Using our 256Bit AES encryption in the software will prevent all but government backed cracking attempts. This means that if you are sending stuff the government may be interested in, this method of protection may be insufficient. Again, it's not our jobs to protect people from government. Your "Default" pass phrase should NEVER be given out to anyone whatsoever. We don't know what it is (it stays on your local machine and we don't have access). This means any files encrypted with this pass phrase is UNCRACKABLE by anyone but YOU. If you forget your phrase those files are protected until our solar system is a cold dead bunch of rocks. If you want to send a file to someone encrypted, use the ONE TIME pass prase (make sure the recipient knows what it will be). REMEMBER: Spelling Counts (CaPiTal LeTTers and Ch#arcter*s can be used but must be REMEMBERED).

PASSWORDS: We store all passwords ENCRYPTED so if our server is breached, the account information is ENCRYPTED and cannot be accessed by hackers. Conversely, we have no clue what your password is. This means we can't tell you what it is if you forget. Essentially this: If you forget what your password is, you are completely "boned" and will be unable to access your account. You cannot call us, email us or visit us and ask for your password. PERIOD!. We will provide a "mail me" link and you can have your PW reset and a new one sent to the email address on file. WARNING: This means someone else CAN get your password by intercepting your EMAIL (something we cannot control).

ANTI HACKING/KEYLOGGING/ATTACK: We reserve the right to employ any and all means to defeat or prevent hacking, DOS attacks, KeyLogging attempts, Screen scraping and emerging threats. This may mean access and use of our service may require steps and processes that take extra time, increase clicks and may seem "troublesome". Your safety requires us protecting our service, not making it easier for attackers.

Abuse and Fraud: Users who attempt to abuse our service through criminal activities or fraudulant use will be a) banned from the service and b) reported to legal authorities in the users HOME JURISDICTION as well as INTERPOL. All files in the users accounts will be frozen and subject to deletion. Determination of Abuse or Fraud is decided by our panel of legal and police advisors and is SOLELY at our discretion.

AGE VERIFICATION: If you are under 13 you are not allowed to sign up for our service(s) without parental permission. How we are to verify such a thing when you'll probably lie is a mystery to us. But you've been warned.
